TrafficViewer Pro *BETA*
Welcome to the TrafficViewer Pro Beta site. On this site we will release the latest and greatest versions before they reach the "official" release site. So if you want to try out new features to see what is coming up or want to help us test new features/fixes before they are "live", then we encourage you to download the latest BETA version here. You can have both the regular release and a BETA release installed on your computer. They will not interfere with each other. The latest version of software will always be available on this site.

TrafficViewer Pro Current State
On January 27th, 2010 the first official (non-beta) release of TrafficViewer Pro was made. From now on the new official site and this site will both run. On the beta site here, which will be open to everybody, you will always find the latest version that is being worked on. Each beta release will have a delay of around one month (without any reported problems) before it will be released as a stable/official release -- with the exception of critical bug fixes which may go out at the same time to both the BETA and stable release.
Both the BETA version and the actual released version now have an internet updater built-in. You can let it automatically download and install an update if you have an internet connection. Or you can turn it off, and just click on a button to check whenever you feel like it.
You can have both the BETA version and the official/stable version installed on your system at the same time. They will run independently of each other, updates and installations will be separate, and settings can be different.
Please let us know if you run into any problems (even very minor ones). We also do welcome suggestions for features to add as we are in development, this is a perfect time to consider things that we may not already have some plans for.
To report a problem, or give us a suggestion, for now please send us an e-mail at support@vehiclecounts.com. When reporting a problem, if you can describe to us your exact steps, or even better yet if you can tell us how we can reproduce the problem (if it's easily repeatable) that would be very helpful. And, if available, please include any data files related to the problem or that may help reproduce the problem.
TrafficViewer Pro Known Issues/bugs
The following is a list of currently know bugs or quirky behaviors. Some occur so infrequently they've been hard to track down, or tell if they're fixed. Others are being worked on, or are so minor other fixes or enhancements are being worked on first. This list is here so that you are aware that we know about the problem; it is also here so you are aware of certain behaviors that may not be intended and will be changed.
- There is a bit of cleanup needed with the communications "connect"/"disconnect" behavior. The button was labeled "Disconnect" when the com port was closed (the button should read "Connect" at that point). To get this behavior, do some combination of scanning and unplugging units.
- There is still a bit of cleanup needed on the graphical display panel. Some clusters still stretch off to the side, even though others were previously fixed from doing so.
- "Show Live" for RoadRunner units and RK-1 units has some problems. Sometimes the button to re-start live data is displayed on top of other controls. This is probably related to the live data causing communications with the unit to get interrupted for a period of time as well. Note: PicoCount units work fine with live data, this only affects the RoadRunner and RK-1 units.

| [New] | Added unit firmware checksumming, just in case a firmware update partially fails (or something else happens to the unit) then the unit firmware can easily be updated again. |
| [Fix] | New PicoCount 2500 firmware (V2.11) to fix several potential issues that could have caused unit failure. |
| [Fix] | Fixed a bug in processing that could sometimes "cluster" vehicles that were a long distance apart therefore at times causing missed vehicles in classification setups. The frequency of this occuring would have varied depending on the scheme used and data density; due to it's nature any data affected would likely have only a slight improvement. The quality meters would have still properly reflected any missed vehicles. |
| [Fix] | Fixed a "Range Error" message that would pop up when TrafficViewer Pro was opened on some installations of beta versions between 1.0.4.59 and 1.0.6.63. |
